Wisdom is Born

Jun 02, 2021

Wisdom is born from crisis, challenge and difficulty. Wisdom is born from recognizing and learning from the curriculum of life.

I’ve learned that hard times create a set of circumstances where you can train your mind to look for and create opportunities. If you haven’t already developed an outlook and a mindset to maintain a calm, centered approach to crisis (while looking for ways to grow and improve your life and the life of those around you) start today! Encourage others to do the same.

Crisis and difficulties allow us the opportunity to develop grit, persistence, empathy, fortitude, gratitude, new skills and something deeper and longer lasting, wisdom. One day you might be up. One day you might be down. Focus on a consistent, calm, and open-minded approach to each and every day.

Yes, times are hard. Even so, I encourage you to frame your mind around the opportunity that exists for growth. The time is now for you to embrace the curriculum of life. Let your strength in the face of adversity fill you with the important knowledge that you can rise above any challenge that you face.

Certainly, pay attention to your emotions and honor them. Pay attention to your thoughts and honor them. Grieve for what was lost and remember that there is something better ahead, opportunity that you were born to know.

Don’t dwell in the negative and all that is wrong. It’s easy to get caught in that cycle. Remember all that you are fortunate to have. Chart your course for continued or renewed success. Reflect. This is the curriculum of YOUR life. Embrace it and learn all you can and apply it moving forward. Create opportunities. Create the life you want to live.

The next time you face a difficult time, a personal crisis or a larger community crisis, which will surely happen, you will be stronger and more well equipped to deal with sudden change.  This is the curriculum of life.

Uplift those around you and encourage others to not get caught in the messiness of it all. Trust that something brighter and more beautiful is ahead. When you look back you will know that this is where some of your wisdom was born.
